The art of yoga

#2 mudita joy 3.png

Yoga is a creative and imaginative practice that celebrates who we really are.

The safe space of yoga

Yoga is a practice with roots in the fertile spiritual soil of ancient India. Modern yoga is a system of self care and spiritual development. Yoga is a beautiful way to achieve real connection to what is happening in the present -without judging it, pushing it away, or trying to hang on to it. Above all yoga is adaptogenic. It means that it will adapt to your situation/state and lead you exactly where you need to go. It can cool you down or warm you up. It can help to welcome joy, vitality, and courage into daily life.

The yogic practices I offer

I practice a non-lineage yoga, free from gurus and from dos and don’ts. I am educated as a yoga therapist and can safely adjust and adapt practices from ancient times to modern needs.

Breath work, pranayama

Breathe is essential to life. It is so important that your body does it automatically from birth to death. Reclaim consciousness of your breath and you will embark onto an incredible journey. I work with a simple frame: low, long, fine, even, and deep. I often use coherent breathing and sometimes other exercises to unblock and free the flow of breath.

I also use breath to discover the rhythms we are made of. When you attune to the inner world it is easier to feel the waves, the vibrating and pulsating nature of our being. Then, it is possible to connect and access the more subtle elements we are made of.

Mindful postures and movements, asanas

Use a pose to get into the body and not the body to get into a pose. This could be the essence of the asana practice I offer. Asanas are then becoming the discipline of connection and a state of intimate presence. I enjoy slow flow and pulsing movements because it leads to fluidity and soothe bodies and minds that are often “computer shaped”.

Guided relaxation, yoga nidra

Yoga nidra is a guided relaxation technique that unravels the secrets of being. It can be translated as yogic sleep, but I experience it as a practice of wide consciousness. It is a transformative and healing practice rooted in letting go. The hypnogenic quality of nidra and the relaxation it creates can lead to deep neuroplasticity and allow for profound insights. It is a delight for the mind, soul, and heart.

Yin yoga

In a world where almost everything serves activation, we need different ways to re-access patience, gentleness and to let go. Yin offers a beautiful setting to explore these qualities. By holding postures longer than you are used to Yin yoga invites your body to reveal itself in new ways. In yin there is a sense of releasing, letting go, accepting what is arising without reacting. It is a soothing and transformative practice.

Meditation, dharana and dhyana

Meditation is a state of stillness. It can be experienced sitting on a cushion, but also walking, in Nature, practicing something else. Meditation is a way to heal from separating from our true self and reach deep connectedness. It is a way to meet, greet, and welcome your body and your senses. Ultimately it is a quality of awareness: spacious and welcoming.
